Another fantastic new Bass Pro Shops opening

Posted: December 7th, 2008

Seems like I’m always running a week or two behind, but I just got back from another fantastic new Bass Pro Shops opening with Jim Hagel, president of Bass Pro and Johnny Morris, the BPS founder. It was at Leeds, Alabama just outside Birmingham.

As usual, Johnny put on quite a party. We had a lot of entertainment…John Anderson, Buddy Jewell and Ricky Medlocke sang some great songs. Bobby and Donnie Allison, Red Farmer, Tony Stewart, and Martin Truex from the racing world were there to share their racing and fishing tales with customers. Woo Daves, Tim Horton, Jimmy Houston and even Santa Claus were also on hand and the big bearded,  jolly fellow was really a big hit with the kids.

The event as so big that the local fire marshal had to get involved to regulate traffic. All in all everything, was a great success…even racing to beat the sunset. Now, let me tell ya about that.

Tracker Marine is introducing a new Pro-16 tracker boat at a sensational price, so Johnny wanted to get some catalog photos of it on a lake about 20 minutes from the store. We had only about a 20 minute window to get to the lake and get these photos done, and man that was quite a feat! But, we got ‘em and the boat looked great, we looked great, and from what I’ve been told everything about this turned out great!

If you’re not wanting to spend a lot of money on a boat, this year, you might want to check out the new Pro16,  because it may be just what you need. Check it out at Trackerboats.com. See ya again soon!

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the nice comments!

My biggest bass weighed 14 pounds and was caught here in Tennessee back in 2003 on a spinner bait in 10 feet of water.

Catch one for me,

Bill
