Weight: 5 pounds, 1 ounce Location: Small neighborhood pond in Myrtle Beach, SC. Date: June 22nd, 2012 Time: 8:30 p.m. EST Lure Used: Texas-rigged YUM soft plastic 5" Watermelon Pearl F2 Dinger, sprayed with YUM F2 Shad Scent Story: This one was bittersweet. While this was my biggest bass I have ever caught by over a pound, probably weighing in at around 5 pounds, I accidentally gut-hooked it and it eventually died. I tried pushing it through the water to get water running through its gills, but it was no use. Luckily, it didn't die in vein, because I was able to put its death to good use by giving it as a meal to one of the families that lived by the pond.
