Kevin VanDam wins the 2016 A.R.E. Truck Caps Bassmaster Elite®

Five Bass Pro Shops Elite Team pros place in the top ten

NITRO® and Bass Pro Shops® Elite Team pro Kevin VanDam captured his record-breaking 21st victory this weekend at the 2016 A.R.E. Truck Caps Bassmaster Elite® competition in Toledo Bend, Louisiana.

VanDam, a legendary bass angler on the professional circuit, earned the title with a 21-pound, 6-ounce grab on the final day of the tournament. His four-day total was 96 pounds, 2 ounces. The win further solidifies VanDam as one of the best professional anglers in Bassmaster history. It also caps a special week as VanDam's twin sons Jackson and Nicholas celebrated their high school graduation.

Five Bass Pro Shops® Elite Team members finished the tournament in the top ten including VanDam along with Chris Lane (second place), Ish Monroe (third place), Andy Montgomery (eighth place) and Edwin Evers (tenth place).

"All of us at Bass Pro Shops and Tracker Marine Group are extremely proud of Kevin VanDam and his impressive victory," said Johnny Morris, Bass Pro Shops founder and a five-time Bassmaster Classic qualifier. "The strong finishes for Chris Lane, Ish Monroe, Andy Montgomery and Edwin Evers reinforce the incredible talent of our entire team and make this a very happy day for everyone at Bass Pro Shops."

The successful outcome contributes to what is already an incredible year for the entire team. Earlier this year Edwin Evers won his first-ever 2016 GEICO® Bassmaster Classic® in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Weeks later true angling legend Rick Clunn won the Bassmaster Elite Series Tournament at St. John's River in Palatka, Florida.
